Essential Bio:
Sons o’ the Soil were conceived in a dimly lit, whisky soaked Green Room in Dublin towards the end of '06. Bob, Gordy and Rob had been considering the possibilities of working together on a project for some time and the time was right. The intention was to create a sound which reflected the rock pedigree of the musicians and blend that with the traditional sound of their Celtic roots. The result was the first Sons o ’ the Soil eponymous EP which has received some excellent reviews from the music industry.

SOTS played numerous gigs and festivals across UK, Ireland and France throughout '07, including Orkney Festival, Speyfest and Bootstock. In '08 SOTS have just returned from a St Patrick’s Day appearance in Belfast and been invited to play the Shetland Folk Festival, Montrose Music Festival, Levellers' Beautiful Days and will also be supporting Paddy Casey in Ireland on a number of dates. SOTS receive regular airplay from a number of radio stations including BBC Scotland.

Members of the band have recorded with a variety of artists over the years including Sinead O’Connor, Paddy Casey and Damien Dempsey.

SOTS are in the studio during March & April recording a 11 track album planned for release in May '08.
